Job Summary
This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, set up, operation, dismantling and strike of equipment and supplies needed for live events (i.e. concert production, theatrical productions, special events, etc.). Such equipment often includes backline, audio systems, lighting systems, staging and scenery. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team under tight deadlines.  

​​Duties/Responsibilities

Event Setup & Breakdown:
 • Assist in loading and unloading trucks with stage equipment, props, instruments, and AV gear.
 • Assemble and disassemble staging, lighting, audio, and video equipment.
 • Set up backline equipment, risers, and stage scenery according to event specifications.
 • Ensure all cables, rigging, and power sources are safely and securely installed.

On-Site Event Support:
 • Assist lighting and sound technicians during performances.
 • Move and adjust equipment as needed for performers and crew.
 • Maintain a safe and organized stage area during events.
 • Respond to on-the-fly adjustments requested by the production team.

Safety & Compliance:
 • Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment handling.
 • Ensure compliance with venue regulations and industry standards.
 • Identify and report any faulty equipment or safety hazards.

Qualifications & Skills:
 • Previous experience in live event production or stagehand work preferred.
 • Familiarity with staging, lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.
 • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (50+ lbs).
 • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
 • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
 • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
 • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in live event production.

Required Skills/Abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
 • Experience with AV equipment, rigging, or backline setup.
 • Forklift or scissor lift certification.
 • Basic knowledge of stage plots, lighting diagrams, and production schedules.

Work Environment:
 • Physically demanding, requiring lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
 • Indoor and outdoor event settings, often exposed to varying weather conditions.
 • Fast-paced and high-energy work environment, requiring adaptability and problem-solving.
